I am thinking about using a Mini 9 to make a hackintosh netbook, but I had this idea that I was thinking about doing before I ordered components and got cracking.
I was considering using an adapter like this one: Micro SATA CF Adapter from Addonics
in order to be able to use a CF card as my internal SSD
. I am assuming speeds will suffer, but I am not planning on using it as a high performance machine but rather a tinkering computer. If I were to use this option, could I just use the CF card for a 10.6 install? And if I do, can I use a different card for Windows 7 (I need it for some programs, otherwise I would just use OS X natively in it on a regular SSD
). I also planned on upgrading to 2GB of RAM in order to reduce lag and hopefully minimize the performance lost form the CF card.
I guess my question is could I do this? And if I do run OS X on it, could I swap them between OSs? I plan on inititally only having 2 for OS X and Win7, but I would like to get a copy of the Chrome OS as its moving along. Any thoughts?
