Default How to go from 10.5.6 to 10.6.1 in the best way? - 10-26-2009, 06:00 PM

I have a stock DM9 running 10.5.6 with attached monitor and wireless apple keyboard.

I need your advice: what is the best (in terms of avoid later trouble) way to update to 10.6.1? I want to do it once - but right. I am willing to do a complete re-install if necessary. The stock ssd has about 2 Gbytes of available space.

Right now I am disappointed with the speed of the machine - besides that it is running very well (uptime of about 25 days).

Any benefits in upgrading right now?

I would do a fresh install of SL, not an upgrade.

I initially did an upgrade, and it had issues I was unable to resolve.

I did a fresh install and have been very happy with the results. SL takes up significantly less space.

As far as speed, it feels about the same as Leo to me, so no, no great speed boost. If you are unhappy with Leo, I don't think SL will blow your socks off.
