It does throttle the speed on my mini 9. There are a few ways to install a kernel extension. Basically, what I did, from Terminal I copied the .kext to /Extra/Mini9Ext/VoodooPowerMini.kext and then ran /Extra/UpdateExtra.app.

mini 9 | 2GB RAM | 16GB STEC SDD | BIOS A06, USB Legacy OFF | No Bluetooth | OSX 10.6.7 | NBI 0.8.5pre w/ ALC268 | Broadcom2Airport
MINI Cooper '02 | 1.6L | CVT | Moonroof | Red w/ White Stripes

Want the ALC268 mini 9 sound fix? Get it here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2377323/Mini9SoundPatch.zip

thanks... i downloaded the zip from here:

http://www.superhai.com/files/leopar...rMini.kext.zip

but found no file that had the kext file extention.

After i downloaded it, im lost from there on how to either both find the kext and then install it.

Thanks for your reply and assistance!

That zip contains the .kext It's a "bundle" or directory. Copy that whole thing into /Extra .

Just use Kext Helper ( http://cheetha.net/ ) to install the .kext - wont need to build anything.

Which program can I use to control the CPU-speed?

It would be nice if I could proof that VoodooPowerMini is working on Leopard 10.5.8.
