Readingthis thread I am wondering should I undo what I have done to get Sleep to work properly. It now will sleep and wake up by tapping the power switch. USB Mouse comes alive as well. Not having any problems, but wondering what impact it would have positively if this procedure was undone and the outlined procedure in this thread was done instead.
What I did was this:
In the Bios:
Legacy USB disabled
Wake on USB disabled
sudo pmset -a hibernatemode 0
louididdy has these procedures:
IV - Fixing Sleep
1- Download Smartsleep: Apple - Downloads - System/Disk Utilities - SmartSleep
2- Install it.
3- Select it from your preference pane.
4- Chose "Sleep only" from "Current Sleep State".
5- Chose "Remove Sleep Image".
My speakers work fine, but the headset and mic plugs are not working. Would the recommendation be to take this action? Any chance this will corrupt speakers that are presently working fine?
V - Fixing Audio
1- Download the VoodooAudioKexts.zip file
2- Inside the Extras\Mini9Ext\ delete the two files that have the word "Azalia" in them, one is patched the other isn't.
*This folder might be hidden in your case, if so, just search for azalea with Spotlight and then select "show all" and then right click on the azalea result and chose "Open Enclosing Folder" and then you will get to the folder containing the two files.
3- Unzip the VoodooAudioKexts.zip and ONLY move VoodooHDA.kext into this same folder (Extras\Mini9Ext).
4- Run UpdateExtra in the Extras\ folder and be patient.
5- Install VoodooHDA.prefpane. I got an error every time I did this, but just ignore it. You might need to force quit your System Preferences.
7- Sound and Mic (needs improvement) should now work with computer speakers and headphone jack.

If it does somehow corrupt your working setup, you can always uninstall the preference pane for voodoo and remove the voodoo.kext from your computer, re run NetbookInstaller and get your old setup back.
As for the sleep solution, I think that when you tell the Smartsleep program to kill the sleep image, it is doing the same thing you did in terminal, but in a more user friendly way. I have no holdup in recommending you do that. Audio is your choice, you can always test run it and see if you like it.

see I ran this sudo command before to turn of sleep, i think it deleted a file too it was like sudo rm sleepimage from /var/vm
the full thing was:
sudo pmset hibernatemode 0
sudo rm /var/vm/sleepimage
but it still hangs up when closing the lid grr
