There shouldn't be a problem with sleep after following the guide, the only thing is that you cant restart after sleep, but with the quick boot up time, its no biggie.

I have a separate sleep issue. All other things are working except sleep.

When I sleep my mini9 and hit the silver button to resume, the screen comes back but I have no mouse and cant interact with the UI ????

Any ideas guys ?

*** On a separate note do you have two finger scroll working on the touchpad like on a MacBook ? I dont seem to have this feature ?

P.S.
My Bios is A00 - Any pointer as to how I upgrade ?

Thanks Charley for that - I'm now on A05 but still having the lost mouse pointer from either wake-up (smartsleep) or wake-up from sleep.

Is this what every one else is having issues with or am I missing something? Its a real pain in the proverbial not being able to sleep the device.

Regards

Are there any Kernel Extensions that should be installed for Sleep Restoration I should be aware of for Snow Leopard ?

Cured the missing mouse pointer on awake after sleep with USB Legacy Support disablement.

Default fixed headphone jack issue for me - 12-08-2009, 08:30 PM

I followed the audio fix instructions and it fixed my headphone jack. Thanks a lot! The only problem is I get constant white noise/static from my headphones now.

First off, I want to say thank you very, very much. Especially since you replied to my post in another thread very quickly yesterday. I bought a mini 9 and a 32gb runcore awhile ago with plans to make it a hackintosh but never actually followed through. My girlfriend is headed to Ethiopia this Friday for a few weeks and I want to give her the mini 9 with OSX on it so she can continue using a mac and also be able to use iChat so we can video chat for free while shes there. Unfortunatley, I have zero experience with the install process and it seems like your guide is geared more towards someone who has a working knowledge of how to do the install. Is there another guide you would recommend reading to get some more insight to the steps outlined in your guide? I tried the most popular one around (mechdrew) but I don't think it totally applies since he's not installing it directly onto the SSD. I'm not a total rookie and I know I can do this, I just don't have much exposure to the hackintosh community. Thanks again.

---------- Post added at 02:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:48 PM ----------

I guess it would be helpful if I pointed out the things I'm confused about. Any help is much, much appreciated. Thank you so much.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I - Installing OSX on the Dell Mini 9 and booting into Snow Leopard (Runcore via Mac method)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1- Connected Runcore SSD to my Mac Mini and formatted it with Disk Utility after selecting "Format: Mac OS Extended Journaled"

I plugged the SSD into my iMac and went to the disk utility. When I select the Runcore drive, which tab should I choose to select "Format: Mac OS Extended Journaled"? Is it the erase tab? I see an option for "Format: Mac OS Extended Journaled" there. Thanks again.

2- Inserted my retail copy of Snow Leopard 10.6.0 into the Mac Mini and rebooted.

I just want to confirm, for this step I'm simply inserting the retail disc into my iMac and restarting the computer? What is the purpose of this? Thanks.

3- Installed Snow Leopard 10.6.0 on the Runcore.

I'm sure there is a guide out there explaining this but I don't have a clue where to start with this one. I know the actual installing of the software is simple, but how do I actually get the install to happen on the Runcore SSD?

4- Booted into the Runcore by holding Option after the startup chime.

So does this mean I need to restart my iMac and hold option when I hear the startup chime? I'm a little confused by this whole step.

5- Ran Software Update and updated to 10.6.1.

I know SL is now on 6.2, but do I have the option to choose 6.1 instead of 6.2 when running software update? I noticed your sig says you're still using 6.1, so it sounds like there may be some issues with 6.2.

6- Ran NetbookBootMaker.

*****At this point, I didn't run Netbook Installer 0.8.3 as the guide I was using said I should've (making sure not to select "create custom DSDT.aml"), but regardless, the SSD drive was able to boot up once inside the Dell Mini 9.

7- Shut down the Mac Mini, disconnected the Runcore, installed the Runcore into the Dell Mini 9.
8- Booted up into OS X on the Dell Mini 9.
