Default Want to reinstall OS X - 10-02-2009, 08:33 AM

I've purchased a Mini 9 with OS X 10.5.5 (I think) on it, but the seller says that it can't be updated, although a retail disc was used. If I want to re-do the process, where would I start to make it upgradable, as I understand it should be? I'm by no means an expert with Macs, but I'm pretty decent with PCs. Thanks

Welcome to MyDellMini

First of all, you will need to purchase a retail copy of OSX... may I recommend Snow Leopard?

Once you have that, you can proceed to follow one (of the many) guides on the forums. I would recommend using NetbookInstaller .8.2a (unless .8.3 is more complete by the time you get around to doing this).

Thanks for the welcome. Ok, so it won't mess anything up if I just follow the steps as if I'm coming from Ubuntu on a new install? Sounds good.
