Default What Order? - 09-17-2009, 07:08 PM

I'm new to this forum - but thank you to evryone, as you've given me the confidence to have a go at hackintosh!

So, I've got my Dell Mini 9 (2GB / 16GB SSD), and I'm awaiting delivery of a Super-Talent 32GB SSD. My install DVD for SL is at the ready, as is the 8GB USB stick, and I've also got a external DVD drive.

I haven't turned the M9 on yet, and I was hoping to swap the SSDs before doing so. However, will I need to install windows (from the back-up) discs onto the 32GB SSD, before I can start to install SL?

Many thanks for your help,

Welcome to MyDellMini I am glad our great experiences with our Minis has persuaded you to purchase one as well...

1. I would recommend doing an initial boot of your system with the stock hardware so you can see if everything is working out of the box. This is a good idea because if something is not working you want to know that you did not break something during your SSD upgrade

2. Once you have powered on and tested... you can simply upgrade your SSD to the new one you purchased and then follow an OSX installation guide to install Snow Leopard. You do not need to install XP before installing OSX
