Any ideas at all? I've tried using the SIM card from my phone (HTC Touch Diamond on T-Mobile with HSDPA package) in the Mini 9 and the speeds were pretty much the same - i.e. very slow. However when I use my phone as a mobile Wifi router and connect the Mini 9 to it, the speeds are much better - pretty much the same as they were under XP and way better than when I use the built-in modem. Given that I had a pretty good speed in XP, I don't think this is a Vodafone issue.
Also, when I try to connect, I'm now getting the error message: "The selected communication device does not exist. Please verify your settings and try again". I have tried re-installing the modem scripts to no avail - no system settings have changed, no other apps or hardware have been installed - it was simply working yesterday and not today. I have no idea what could cause this; I've searched for this error message on these forums - no results - and Google only gives me info regarding "real" Macs.
Honestly, I think I'm going to re-sell my copy of Leopard and go back to XP (and then to Win7 when I get my greasy mitts on a retail copy). I've not found OS X to be any better for the tasks I use the netbook for; in fact, it's slightly slower - sure it'd probably be better if I upgraded the SSD
& RAM, but the point is I didn't need to do either of these things under XP. It eats up way too much space compared to an nLite'd WinXP install (OSX = several hundred MB free, no hibernation file; WinXP around 3gb with a hibernation file), the battery seems to drain quicker, it warms up an awful lot more, I can no longer use Google Chrome, startup takes longer, I can't use hibernation and now I'm having serious issues with the 3G modem.
