| Senior Member Posts: 183 Join Date: Jul 2009 Location: Austin, TX | All you really need to do is wipe the first couple of dozen sectors, which contain the boot record and partition table. I find the easiest way to do that is to run DBAN from floppy or CD and fire off a "quick" wipe with the entire drive selected. This will start writing binary zeroes to the entire disk, and you can simply interrupt it after a couple of minutes, after which your installation media should see the drive as completely virgin.
