Default Runcore swap - 08-24-2009, 08:54 AM

I currently have a mini 9 with no BT or webcam. I've considered picking up another with both of these options, but I'm not wanting to purchase another runcore at the same time. Maybe later on, but what I want to do is to swap out the SSD from one to the other. What potential problems might I incur? Would I be better off just starting fresh?

My original Mini 9 took a fall to the floor, cracking the LCD. While I was waiting for the replacement LCD from Hong Kong to arrive, I bought a used Mini 9 from a guy on CraigsList.

When I went to check it out it had an 8 gig Unbuntu SSD. I popped that out, put my OS X SSD in, and it booted right up. I didn't have to do anything at all to make it work.

I did upgrade the ram. but it was running OK with the stock 1 GIG stick.

As far as the webcam and Bluetooth, it should just be a matter of enabeling the Bluetooth, the webcam should be recognised and work.

I don't have these options, so your mileage may vary, but I would try just swapping before doing a fresh install.
