Default Dell 3G modem compatible on different brand computer - 06-27-2009, 01:44 PM

As the title says. I was thinking of getting one of those Super Talent double width 128GB ssds but in doing so will have to lose the built in 3G card. As I dont use 3G that often on the Dell but will be getting a Viliv S5 mid I'm thinking og popping the 3g card into the S5.

So my question is will it work in a totally different brand of computer? Do I just load the Dell drivers or will I have to find the generic ones?

Yes - you can swap out the 3G card into any laptop with a design to fit a 3G card. Have swapped mine out of the kids laptop into my M6400 and it works fine - am running windows 7 64 bit on that laptop and the drivers and GPS work fine.
