Default Are the PCIe Slots Functionally Identical? - 11-17-2008, 03:38 PM

If the PCIe slot for the SSD is functionally identical to the slot for the WLAN card, it would seem we could move the WLAN card to where the SSD normally lives, and then we could use a longer SSD such as for the Asus eeePC. Simply(?) remove the small plastic divider, and the longer SSD card could exend into the empty bay intended for the WWAN card. Of course, the antennas for the WLAN card would have to be rerouted. Or, for those needing more storage and don't require the WLAN card, this would allow a pair of SSDs.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

No, each slot is unique. ESPECIALLY the SSD slot.

Tired of wondering if your Mini9 is doing ANYTHING? - Add a HDD Activity LED
