Unhappy Some questions about Blackberry and Mini 9 - 09-30-2008, 02:29 PM

Hi guys, i own a Blackberry Curve 8310 under the AT&T plan, and i currently have unlimited data plan for it. I was just wondering if they would charge me extra if i connect my phone to my mini via bluetooth and use the internet connection from my phone? Has anyone else done this with their BB? If so let me know Thanks

I don't see how they would be able to tell otherwise Aslong as you can manage to get the blackberry to share the connection you're away.

Chances are tho there is a cap of traffic, or an "excessive use" charge so I wouldn't exactly use it a downloading machine, but should be fine for what the mini was designed for!

Please do not send me support requests via PM.

This would be better asked at a Blackberry forum; the Mini would have no problem with it.

I am on AT&T with a windows mobile handset that I use for tethering, and it works great. The HDSPA network connection is faster than Bluetooth, so I usually use a USB cable, but Bluetooth does work also.

I have the tethering feature on my plan. While it might be possible for you to get connected without this feature, bear in mind that it would be trivial to determine that the traffic was coming from a computer rather than a phone, so you might get hit with some fees or something if they catch you.
