Default upgrading to supertalent 32 ssd - 05-13-2009, 05:41 PM

newbie here and i am waiting for my mini to arrive. i am planning on upgrading to 2gb ram, and 32 ssd from supertalent. i just wanted to know, when upgrading the ssd, am i supposed to do anything extra or do i just unscrew the old ssd and install the new ssd and just go on with the mac os x installation process. every answer would help. thanks.

Just replace the SSD and then install your new OS. Be careful about the screws holding the SSD in place. Use a #0 Philips driver and press down on it while turning so as to avoid stripping the screw head. Some have had problems removing these screws.

holmes4 is right on. There's nothing to it, other than being careful not to strip the screw heads. Very easy to do, unfortunately.

Be sure to discarge any static from your body before installing the SSD. Touch a grounded screw on an outlet or light switch, or use an anti-static wrist strap if you have one.

Many people say this isn't necessary, but it's better to be safe than sorry, and it doesn't take much effort, anyway.
