Default Mini 9 NES/SNES emulator capability issue - 05-10-2009, 02:05 AM

I have been trying to run the RockNES and SNES9x emulators on my Mini 9 and I cannot get either to run at 60 frames/sec. The RockNES emulator is unplayable due to choppy play. The SNES9x emulator runs at between 30-45 frames/sec. I currently have GMABooster set to 400mhz, which did slightly help the frame rate by 3-5 frames maybe.

I find it hard to believe the Mini 9 cannot run these programs at 60 frames/sec since the computer at my buddy's place really old and runs the emulators perfectly, but perhaps the Mini 9 does not have the capability.

Anyone able to run these or similar programs? Is the Mini 9 even capable of running such programs?

How did you install snes9x? I used synaptic and got the gtk+ or whatever packet. I think I remember seeing a few options for the install. I also have the SDL, donno if that'll help or not. Just look in synaptic.

I had Zsnes and couldn't get it working without really choppy sound. snes9x works great, I have no problems with choppy video or sound.

Ok, first off, let's throw out snes9x and rocknes.

GARBAGE emulators.

ZSNES is the way to go for proper speed.

FCEUX runs at full speed on my XP mini.

What OS are you using?

(Remember NES used a 4 mhz processor and SNES used, I believe, a 16 mhz one and a SONY sound chip!)
