Default 4GB Ram Possible? - 05-08-2009, 04:00 AM

I have tried install a a 4GB PC2-5300 ram module in my Mini 9, the computer doesn't seem to turn on with the 4GB Ram module installed. I have checked the module in a Dell D830 and it works fine.

All the information I can find indicates the ATOM processor should be able to support the 4GB Ram.

Anyone have any ideas?

It sounds like a bios issue. It probably isn't written to address 4gb. 2gb is plenty on the Mini anyway.

it doesnt depend on the processor. The max memory depends on the chipset. So check the Intel site for the specs of the 945GSE chipset to see for yourself.

no 4gb will not work in the mini 9. 2 gb is the max the system can accept.
