Are there any other temp files that can safely go into this ram disk?

I have done this method, but when I reboot the RAM drive becomes unreadable, and it says it cannot be read by the system. So I have to unmount then remount and then it comes back and is readable. Any suggestions?

You can set the Ram drive type using the config util.
Do you know what you set it to? (Try a different Ram drive type.)

Just installed a 384mb ramdisk. So far, performance is noticeably better, especially in Firefox. Thanks!

Haven't tried this yet. The info sure wasn't anywhere in the Google groups for Chrome when I searched. Thanks for the link. I am waiting for my RC build of Windows 7 to finish and will set it up after a clean install.

I've been using a RAM disk the entire time, but you can set Firefox to use RAM as cache anyways. I wouldn't recommend using the drive for your temp and tmp files though. Some programs, like virus scanners, use a lot of physical space temporarily, so if it doesn't have enough space, it will start to use RAM to load and save its files. Basically, you will run out of RAM.
