Minimum Requirements for OS X - 03-24-2009, 03:17 PM
I have one Mini9 (XP Pro) and I want to setup another just to play around/learn OSX.
What are the minimum recommended hardware requirements?
ie. Memory, disk size, etc?
Dell have a 1 day special (today) Mini9 - 512MB Ramm 8 GB HDD, Ubuntu for $199
Software developed for Mini9 - http://www.tek911.com/software.shtml
Scroll dwn and look for Disk Activity Monitor , Caps Lock Tray Light

Installing Mac OS X Leopard on 8 GB is possible with something like XxX 10.5.6 Leo Install DVD, if you deselect everything but the base system. You will have about 1 GB free space on an 8 GB SSD (using MBR instead of GPT).
But I would really recommend at least a 16 GB SSD if you want to use your Mini 9. Installing just the updates already needs the 1 GB.
As for the RAM, 512 MB is required (no fun), 1 GB is OK and 2 GB is what I would recommend.
