Default Any battery upgrades that aren't HUGE? - 03-23-2009, 08:08 PM

Has anyone come across a suitable replacement battery for the Dell m9 that is higher capacity than the standard 2200 mAh one, yet doesn't look like a portable fission reactor sticking out of the back of the machine. I have seen the Chinese super-mega high capacity models on ebay (listed as something like 5200-7700 mAh), but they are all huge 8+ cell packs. I realize that I can't expect miracles--more charge requires more space to store--but is there anything that is similar size to the regular battery with slightly more capacity? Something like a 5-cell replacement.

Haven't seen it. I agree that one that didn't stick out so much would be welcome. I'm not sure why 8 cells takes more than 2X the space of 4 cells.

I don't see why they cant just design the battery case etched out in the shape of the mini opening .

The 77 Batt is not all that bad. It is not as good looking but I love the 7 hours I got on Saturday

Repeating what a friend said about it as someone who didn't know what the styling looked like when I got it...

"Someone finally designed a notebook with a keyboard that has a tilt." (not knowing that the larger battery was added to it)
