Forum sponsor MyDigitalDiscount.com is a popular seller of these.

So can this adapter be removed or trimmed, or is there a Runcore 64 gig that will fit?

Mine has the adapter, and I noticed right off it would not seat the RCP-IV-P5064 properly.

Am I stuck with the 16 G drive?

Thanks
Mike

What is people experience with a STEC 32GB? How much is the speed difference? I picked one up for 50 bucks and kinda wodnering if I should have paid the 50+ more for a runecore.

Greetings everyone,

I am looking for a Runcore upgrade for my Dell netbook. Not quite sure though which one is the best to use. I have read that the best drives are Runcore and OCZ... have found many sites on the web, but for Runcore I am not sure if I should use the Pro IV light or the normal 50mm series... which one is needed... see example...

RunCore Pro IV Light 50mm mini-PATA PCI-e Solid State Drive SSD [RCP-IV-M5064-C] - €195.16 : SSD Europe

64GB PCI Express PCI-e RunCore MLC SSD for Dell Mini (50mm) - RCP-I-M5064-C de Notebooks Laptops billiger notebook.de

RunCore 64GB Pro 50mm PATA Mini PCIe SSD [RCP-I-M5064-C] : SolidStateCentral.com.au, SSDs - Solid State Drives. The place to buy SSD.

The Pro IV is the best. The second and third links you have are for the original model (which is what I have).

Hello everybody I am new here and I have a problem. My original Dell Mini 910's 8GB SSD has bad sectors half of which are irrecoverable. I purchased a Runcore Pro IV Light 50mm mini-PATA PCI-e Soild State Drive 16GB SSD. I am trying to do a clean install on the new Runcore SSD, but when I run the Dell Windows XP Home Edition install CD after the CD load I get a blue screen saying "a recent hardware or software change has occured"

My current BIOS is A05.

I have My Dell Mini 910, an flash Drive, WinToFlash, and PowerISO 4.7. Can anyone help with this error? I know that code the code is a hardware error 0x0000007B (0xF7A5E63C, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Holmes, the reason for that is that Runcore switched to the Amigos controller due to its power savings. It is true it is about 1/2 the speed of the original with the Barefoot controller but it runs cooler and with less power. It is also light years faster than the Phison PATA controller solution offered by Super Talent. In fact is is literally 5-18 times faster when it comes to random read and write speeds and that is going to make the world of difference for running an OS. I would not suggest ever buying any SSD with less than a 5MB/sec random 4K read and write speed otherwise you will have many issues with freezing and studding during use.

We sell both solution but I would 100% of the time suggest the Runcore solution over the ST.
