i have the mini with the WWAN + AT&T sim card. i dont have a contract with them though and not activated. sorry, i am new to these GPS stuff. how does this work? http://www.buygpsnow.com/Canmore-GT-730 ... _1037.aspx ?? just plug and go?

That is certainly one option - if you're running Windows. You'd probably also want some mapping software - Google Maps would work if you have a network connection, or something like DeLorme StreetAtlas or Microsoft Streets and Trips with GPS support.
