Unhappy BIOS help - 05-14-2017, 03:08 PM

Hi to anyone still out there.

I've been given a Dell Inspiron Mini 910 and just decided I would have a play about with it.

The issue I have is that it came without a charger. The charger I have does power it but it will not charge. Whether the battery is done for I'm not sure.

I've done some research and it seems my last throw of the dice is to update the BIOS but I have encountered the usual problems.

The Windows package, I get the standard 144 error. I tried with the battery in, I tried starting and pulling the battery etc.

What I am looking for is a way to use the /forceit method in the hope it may work. Doubtful I know. I just cannot find the BIOS package to download that will allow me to do this.

If anyone could assist it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

the bios file is under the driver section of the site from dell.
Support for Inspiron Mini 9 910 | Dell US

you can use a USB dos drive for installation of the driver to the latest version.

since you are getting windows errors i would suggest doing a clean install, this can solve 99% of all problems.

i also have the mini 910, and this is what i used to install the bios.

i also might be looking into another tablet/netbook since my mini910 is starting to run sluggish, (and i have a bare windows 10 home, {which means all junk/useless trash is either removed or disabled})

(if you are interested, you can look in my signature for the "upgrades/specs")
