Re: Need Instructions for flashing bios from A00 to A04 - 01-27-2009, 09:07 PM
BIOS do not need to be updated sequentially. And as far as I know, the only way to update the BIOS (outside of Windows) on the Mini 9 is with a flash drive. I am not sure if there are bootable USB floppy drives, but even if there were that would be a very roundabout way to do it.
Your best bet in my opinion is to create a bootable Flash drive with the BIOS on it and use that to flash your laptop. It's a fairly complex process to do manually, but this program makes it fairly trivial: http://stashbox.org/browse.php?q=flashBIOS
You are going to want to flash the 910_A04.ROM to your PC. If you have any more questions, I suggest you read through the thread on the A04 BIOS stickied at the top of this forum.
Standard Disclaimer: I take no responsibility for anything negative that happens as a result of you using this program; however, I will say that I and many other users of this forum have used that program successfully and there is little reason to doubt that it will work. But as is the nature of BIOS flashing, things can and do go wrong and if it is something that you feel uncomfortable doing, you either should not be doing it or should do it on the phone with tech support or someone you trust to carry out the procedure.
