According to my (ill-gotten and no I won't post it again here) Dell Certified Systems Expert Manual for the Inspiron 910 see the Audio specs on the Mini 9 below. Note that it says they are 4-ohm speakers and that there are no measurements given.

Audio type two-channel high definition audio
Audio controller Realtek ALC268
Stereo conversion 24-bit (analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog)
Internal interface Intel high-definition audio
External interface integrated analog microphone, microphone-in connector, stereo headphones/speakers connector
Speaker two 4-ohm speakers
Internal speaker amplifier 0.5 watt per channel into 4 ohms
Volume controls program menus

The problem is twofold:

Are there speaker elements that can fit in that space (or anywhere) that will provide a real measurable no-BS upgraded audio experience?
Will it be worth the time and effort (and money) needed to do the job?

I've had my mini apart, and I LOVE audio projects for their ease and simplicity compared to other projects, but for my money I'm good just setting the EQ and accepting what the thing is.
It's still WAY better than the speaker in my phone, and plays dixv files way WAY better.
