Default Can the Dell Mini 9 take "non SSD" drives - 12-14-2012, 11:15 AM

I've just had a 32gb Runcore SSD go on me and i need to purchase a new HDD. I've been reading on here and it seems quite common. It for my girlfriend so he doesnt need the fast bootups and quick read / write etc. I'd rather go for something more reliable.

I'd done some googling and all i see is SSD, SSD , SDD!!
Are there normal sata hdds that work?

The Mini 9 uses a PATA SSD. If the listing doesn't say fits the Mini 9 then you are at risk.

In particular, a 50mm SSD with a PATA interface on a MiniPCIe card. As lswartz says, if it doesn't specifically say it is for a Dell Mini 9/Inspiron 910/Vostro A90, it isn't.
