Default Looking for a Durable Cheap SSD - 08-09-2012, 06:49 PM

The stock 16 GB SSD on my Mini 9 died recently and I am looking to replace it with an SSD of either 16 or 32 GB capacity. I plan on running either Chromium or OSX. I know the Runcore drives have a good reputation, but I think it's ludicrous to pay $70 for 32 GB nowadays. Any recommendations? Thanks.

Your choices are very limited. If you want cheap, and don't mind low performance, look for Kingspec. SuperTalent is the only other manufacturer I think has been in this space.

$70 for 32GB? Used to be double that.

Runcore 32 is $79 and mine performs great. Much better than the Supertalent. Ebay has 32 gb Kingspec for $42. If you don't want to wait for a shipment from China, They have one from a US seller for $56.
