Default SSD upgrade help - 09-26-2011, 12:20 AM

Hello, I recently purchased a MyDigitalSSD 32GB 50mm Bulletproof off of Amazon. It was advertised as new. When I installed the Drive the Mini 9 will not boot or post. I re-installed the original 8GB SSD and the Mini 9 booted and posted correctly. I can even get the Mini 9 to post with no SSD installed.

Can I safely assume that the MyDigitalSSD 32GB 50mm Bulletproof is faulty? Only when the MyDigitalSSD 32GB 50mm Bulletproof is installed does the machine not post. The screen will flicker and then only removing the battery and AC power will reset the device.

edit - my Mini 9 is running BIOS version A07

I think you bought the wrong product. Every listing I can find for that product name says that it is a SATA drive. The Mini 9 requires a PATA drive. If the SSD description does not explicitly say Dell Mini 9, don't buy.
