Default Super Talent SSD NTLDR Missing - 04-06-2011, 03:35 AM

I purchased a Super Talent FEM32GFDL 32GB SSD from Amazon for my Mini 9 and after the install, all I get upon start up is NTLDR is missing. I change the boot drive to my USB CD drive and have tried all types of boot disks and iso's but it always ends up missing the NTLDR. Does anyone have any suggestions or do any of you hardware experts think the drive is bad? Very grateful for comments, thank you.

Does it boot from the CD drive? That message generally means the boot disk is corrupted - it got as far as seeing that there was a bootable Windows disk, but it is missing important files (or they aren't where they are supposed to be.)

I'd try the install again.

The new SSD does not see the CD drive or USB drives. I had previously installed XP on the 8GB drive from the CD drive and was thinking all I had to with this new SSD was put it in, turn on the computer, set the boot to the CD and away it went, but this new SSD sees nothing.

I just went through this last week with this drive. I had the same problem until I went into the BIOS and changed the boot options there to CD. Then it booted the cd of Window xp and did the install.

The BIOS is when you press 2 during boot, and the drive sequence is when you press 0 doing boot. I've been changing the drive sequence to CD during boot, but have not changed anything by pressing 2 during boot. Are you saying to press 2 during boot and change the drive sequence there? (sorry for the user name change from TA100 to ta101 but I could never seem to get logged in with the TA100 account)

Go into the Bios setup '2'. it's the last page. I tried the boot sequence myself until I was 'blue-in-the-face'. After I changed it in the bios, it booted/installed just fine.

This issue is now closed. The boot sequence worked and Win 7 is now installed. But haha now see my new post.
