Default Does anyone sell hackintosh minis? - 09-05-2010, 04:05 PM

It just seems like it would be a proffitable buisness seeing as apple refuses to sell anything this size. I know many of my mac using friends would see how small it is, see osx and not care about the hardware. thanks

No, because it's a violation of OSX's license agreement. Apple has had listings removed from eBay just because the seller listed the possibility that OSX could be installed on a Mini 9 or 10v. They might be willing to look the other way when an individual user hackintoshes his or her personal machine and doesn't advertise it to the entire world, but if someone were to try to run a business doing such things, I'd think Apple would try its best to get it shut down.

If you're thinking of offering something like this for sale here, you'd better read this thread:

Selling Pre-Installed OS X = BAN

Mini 9 (910): Cherry Red, N270, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB STEC SSD, XP Home
Mini 10v (1011): Passion Purple, N270, 1 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, XP Home
Inspiron 11z (1110): Passion Purple, SU4100, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, Win7
Alienware M11x R1: Cosmic Black, SU7300, 4 GB RAM, 160 GB HDD, Win7
Latitude 2110: Blue Ribbon, N470, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB HDD, Touchscreen, Win7
Zino HD (400): True Blue, Athlon X2 3250e, 4 GB RAM, 500 GB HDD, Win7
Plus a few others not discussed here...

that makes no sense. If i buy an os from apple i should be able to put it on whatever i want. They just want all of their products to start above a 1000$. What if i sold them at a local flee market? I would probly be fine.

Btw i wasnt planning on selling one on here. I just got my own mini and i have xp installed. I plan on keep it

there is no point in continuing the discussion - when you accept the terms of agreement when you install OSX on a mini it is a technical violation.

To then promote this for sale you are effectively offering pirated software for sale. end of story - there is no shades of grey.
