Nope - won't fit. You need a 50mm model - that one is 70mm.

If you could physically make it fit, then yes it should work. But it's an old, slow model that is worse than the stock SSD. Why not get one that fits and is faster? You would have to do major surgery on the Mini to make the 70mm card work.

Have you considered getting a 16 GB SDHC. I got an OCZ one for around $20 after rebates. I haven't seen any that good since, but they are about $35 which still is not too bad.

No, you cannot. Not only does Windows not like installing to a removable device, but on the Mini 9, the SD slot is not bootable.

you can however use the SD for the location for all your files and music etc - it then allows the SSD installed to remain as free as possible. Because it slots flush with the chassis this makes a nice internal solution.

In saying that I do believe the 16gig SSD to be as small as you can get away with, the advantage the SD card has is these are now relatively cheap - I use a NTFS formatted 32 gig one to move all my stuff between laptops (NTFS formatted because I move large images around) works fine - just not so good with OSX!!
