(I had a thread about my mini 9 project before but school got to hecktic to post) Here's my Dell Mini 9 running ubuntu 10.04, Windows 7 and MeeGo with Runcore T-Style Mvix Solido usb wifi card CrystalHD 70012 and eGalax Touch screen BlueTooth (gotta just fix some wire routing on it) Things I still need to do______ *Buy a replacement webcam (I messed mine up earlier along with an eGalax control board that MDD kindly replaced, this may have been because all 4 spots had active usb outputs?) *Wire a 32GB usb stick inside next to T-Style Runcore _______________________ Show off 1080 video thanks to broadcom crystal, then some tablet stuff from Ubuntu and how small the pico drive can be, soon to be inside my netbook. Sorry about quality, sound and the part of the movie I skipped to... _______________________ Links Adding antenna to Tiny Wifi Card (old thread) Mini9 Tablet w/ Accelerometer (w/ video) (This is where the wireless card lies) More Space! (Relocating the touchscreen hub) (This is where my touchscreen controller lies) |

Thanks because the Mini 9 is "discontinued" some of the parts are too rediculus to buys, do you have a part number by the way? Will this work? http://cgi.ebay.com/Dell-Inspiron-13...#ht_2924wt_913 Do I need to rewire it? Is it 3V or 5V? Thanks Ohh and on the pico drive I removed the metal case which was the only way I could get it to fit. I'll take pics of my mini now, maybe a video. Then when I take it apart to fix by BlueTooth Wiring I'll show off the internals =) |

What advantages does the CrystalHD 70012 wifi card give you? eGalax touchscreen is that just a standard resistive or capacitive? Any better then the standard touchscreen i see going into most mini 9 tablets. Also with your external antenna could you post some pictures of the wiring and case mod you did for it? I am very interested in doing that for my mini 9 tablet. |

The BCM70012 takes the place of the pice wireless card and is a video decoder. It can allow me to play almost any h264 movie cleanly in Windows or XBMC in Linux as long as the bitrate is below around 15Mb/s. It also slightly helps with flash decoding if your have flash 10.1 in Windows only (maybe mac?). I have the T-style runcore which takes up too much space for me to put the touchscreen controller board anywhere. So I used the third link to place it where the BlueTooth goes.(Which was rotated so it fits there as well.) The eGalax has 2 extra usb outputs which can help adding mods (like a usb wifi/ usb card). It also make everything very easy unless you have the T-Style runcore like me, or WWAN. *Warning, my first eGalax killed my webcam and itself when I plugged in all four usb inputs (Touchscreen, wifi, webcam and an extra USB) * (They kindly replaced this) Basiclly this thing is stuffed... | |

I also have some picture of my very rough stylus mod, lol used a kitchen knife and now a nintedo DS stylus fits in the screen. It doesnt close 100% but aropund 95% now. |

So can someone just confirm this works with the Dell mini 9 3V wiring before I go and buy one?
