Vendeta's Tablet Mini - 06-18-2010, 04:48 PM
Well after owning my mini 9 for aprox a year its become boreing. Got to work last night reading every mini 9 tablet conversion on this site i could find and tore my mini 9 apart. I plan to buy DealExtreme: $48.20 9" USB Touch Screen Digitizer DIY Mod Kit for Asus Eee PC 900 UMPC Laptops asap but by the end of today i plan to have the tablet build done minus the touch screen. Ill take pictures throughout the day and update this thread with them when i can.
QUESTION: The screen always turns off when i close the lid fully is their anyway to change this? windows settings wouldn't stop it. EDIT: problem solved, the monitor casing was crushing the cable causing the signal to short out. Solution, remove monitor casing from back as its not needed.
Currently running coretemp, to test how bad it will get for heat under low and high stress.
Low stress: Averaging 40 Degrees C and not heating up screen
High stress: Averaging 55-60 slightly heating up screen
Buy and install touch panel
Buy and install accelerometer
Reposition power button to front of caseing.
Appoxy the laptop together into a permanent slate.
Buy a new lid and replace it. Scratched it up when i cut the monitor hole.
Mini 9: White, 32gb super talent, 2gb of ram, broadcom wireless, 1.6ghz atom, 4gb sdhc, windows 7
