Default Installing new SSD - 06-16-2010, 01:51 PM

My factory SSD recently crashed so I purchased a new RunCore to replace it with. After installing the new drive and booting I get a message stating "NTLDR missing". I am new to upgrades like this and was wondering if anyone can help?

Did you image the old drive to the new drive or do a fresh OS install?
Windows 7?
Software on a thumb drive?
If so boot to it and run startup repair.

welderguy, you did not mention any software/OS install on the runcore. What have you tried yet?

The original drive was fried and I'm having to start completely fresh. I have the XP disc that came with the comp. I bought a external cd drive but when I try to boot I get the NTLDR missing screen. I also have the mini usb for the ssd if there is a way to load the OS onto the new ssd from another comp.

The NTLDR message means it's trying to boot from the SSD, not the optical drive. Make sure you've set the optical drive as higher priority in the BIOS, or use the boot menu.
