Default help 64GB RunCore Pro 50mm mini-pcie pata mini 9 - 06-15-2010, 03:34 PM

im normally fairly good with replacing hardware (it's usually simple) my 64gb STEC drive faild, so i ordered a 64GB RunCore Pro 50mm. this drive detects fine with the usb enclosure that came with it, but when i insert it in the mini 9, the bios doesn't see it, and the windows 7 install dvd doesn't see it. i have bios A04 installed. do i need to update it as well? (i wouldnt think so)

does anyone have any suggestions at all?

Put a piece of electrical tape over the screw holes on the back of the SSD, so the tape is between the board and the mounting posts. Sometimes the mounting post shorts out a pin on the back of the SSD.

thanks, homes4.

turns out, even tho i selected pata, and 'mini 9 compat' from amazon (shipped via mydigitaldiscount) they sent me the sata version, which fits fine etc. i contacted them and they sent out a replacement right away. took very good care of me. now all is well.

thanks again.
