Not difficult, if you can follow instructions and are not ham-fisted. Dell's service manual has the steps.
Be careful to observe the routing of the display cable through the hinge.

why not check into getting a touch screen as long as you have to replace it anyway?..I know if it was me I would do it in a heartbeat

it's crazy simple, honestly.
1. Steve speaks TRUTH. Pay attention to the cables as it will seriously ruin your day if they are not routed correctly. if they pinch... poof
2. My advice is to use a screwdriver that fits the screws properly and remember you are not torqueing down a set of car wheels.
3. The ribbon connectors slide out, not flip up. Use 3 hands to put the keyboard ribbon in. One on each brown slider tab, and one to push the cable in. Of course, if you have a good dexterity or are used to working on laptops you wont need a buddy.
4. use your fingers to spread the palm rest from the base and then again for the lcd bezel from the back. Use a credit card to spread if you need help. It will sound like youre breaking it. Be deliberate. Be flippen careful.
