Actually the post starts with a plea for someone else to come up with the mod.

My response was that they should up with one themselves.

To me it smacks of oh, being entirely in context.

What exactly is the problem here?

EDIT
In the interest of doing something constructive here, allow me to suggest a strip of tape or some other durable material along the back edge where it might rest and some large self-adhesive rubber feet for the front, either the kind you can find at Radio Shack or a hardware store.

Short of cutting apart your Mini 9 to modify it yourself (or asking others to it for you) you have few options.
The intention with the thread was for someone to investigate the hinges to find out how it can be done. Especially since the hinges are so easy accessible. And if someone finds out how you do it, Im gonna do it myself.

The tape tip is a good idea I guess, even though Im a bit reluctant to have the mini resting entirely on the lid.

The hinges are not at all easily accessible... to get to them you need to take the display off, which is about as completely disassembled as the Mini can get. I haven't even cracked the display bezel open yet.

Well, removing the display bezel makes them accessible. At least it makes it possible to find out whats needed to be done.
