Very sorry to hear about the contact pads on your flash drive! I had that happen to a USB hub during my modding, but not one of the drives... Should you hear from someone about potential salvage tricks, keep me in the loop.
Nice pictures, too. You've got me thinking about implementing UnaClocker's drive light mod myself. I have lots of parts just lying around (and I haven't taken my Mini apart in, what, 2 weeks?). Your squid-hub is a bit more compact than the hub I went with, but I'm happy with my changes regardless.
Here, I utter the Modder's Creed: Our satisfaction with our customized device will last longer than the warranty would have!
Everyone's experiences with the new RunCore SSDs has me saving my pennies for the 32gb SSD upgrade (all the more room to experiment with various Linux distributions). Add to that strider_mt2k's Atom-based file/print server, and I'm thinking most of the machines on my LAN will be power-sipping lightweights before April.
Great job with your mods - pax!

My SD slot works fine? True, it is not a normal (USB-based) SD reader, but with the kexts included with the install (late Type11/DellEFI) there should be no reason why it doesn't work for you? What OS are you running?
