Wow, if the QCom card just works, I think I might just buy one instead then. Out of curiousity, what Dell WWAN software are you using? I would like to make sure I have the same as you are using. Also, if you disable the radio in the software, does your WLAN radio shut off?

I didn't try it with the WLAN card installed, but turning the radio on/off in the WWAN software didn't seem to do anything to pin 20. I didn't mess around with it very much, though.

For the WWAN software, I was using the application on this page under Communication for the HSPA card.

Drivers & Downloads

Also I'm running Win 7. All the Mini 9 software appears to be Win XP only, but the WWAN software seemed to install fine. Don't know if it was something I did to get the QCom card working, or if it would have worked anyway. Just nice that it did end up working fine.

Unfortunately the Broadcom HD decoder card didn't show up today, so I'll have to wait until I get back from a trip in about a week to install and test it out. Shouldn't have any problems getting it to work, though, the WiFi card was the only uncertain thing.

Hurray! I got the Gigabyte GN-WI05GS-RH working in the WWAN bay of my mini 9!

It turns out all I needed to do was keep pin 20 from making a connection with a very small piece of electrical tape over it I wonder if my card's pin 20 works the opposite as yours regarding the high/low singal? Either way, I'm happy with the solution.

As an added bonus, the Ralink software lets me still enable/disable the radio (for plane trips and whatnot).

Looks like you can add 2 Wifi cards to the list that work in the WWAN bay.

I realize this is an older thread, but I just received and installed the Qcom card this afternoon, and I'm not having much success. While windows 7 "sees" the card and installs the appropriate drivers, the radio isn't turned on from all that I can gather... the icon appears in the tray, but it doesn't show any networks. Now if I install the ralink software it indicates that the card is present but it too says that the radio is "off" any insight would be appreciated. I did not add the WWAN slot as it just came directly from dell in place. I guess I could try ordering the Gigabyte card if anyone thinks that it truely does operate differently... maybe it's looking for a "low" on Pin 20 - this baffles me!!
