Default Internal USB mod help? - 01-25-2010, 11:25 PM

Ok so I just tried to integrate a 64mb flash drive as a test for the internal usb mod and I got all the wires in the correct places and grounded and all just like awooga! but it ended up not working (the flash drive got really hot really fast).

Any ideas? I didnt solder them on as of now so maby using electrical tape had something to do with it? wouldnt think so though...

If the drive got hot fast, you did not wire it correctly.

You don't say where you connected any of the wires, but I can't imagine how you could use just electrical tape to make any connections to the USB inside the Mini.

It sounds like you short-circuited something. Maybe you taped one wire to more than one contact or lead? If you're very lucky, nothing got damaged. I suggest you start over, soldering carefully.
