Default Not enough space to install XP? Help! - 01-07-2010, 06:13 PM

I am not an expert, so go easy on me here. I tried to upgrade my mini to windows 7. Said I couldn't because the drive wasn't NTFS formatted. So I put the XP disc that came with my machine into the external CD drive and it prompted me to change the file system to NTFS and install XP so I did, thinking I could upgrade after the new install. Well something errored (yay blue screen) and now when I try to install XP it tells me there's not enough space on my hard drive. I can't start windows because it errors and I can't reinstall windows because there's not enough space. How do I fix this?

Go back to the Windows 7 install disc, select a Custom install, then Advanced. Delete all the existing partitions and select the unpartitioned space for the install.

With XP you can delete partitions also, but I don't remember the procedure, been too long since I've installed XP lol.
Custom install or something, the screen shows you drives connected and partitions, select the partition and press D and I think L to verify.
