| Guru Posts: 1,997 Join Date: Apr 2009 | You'll need to start by booting off the USB drive. Turn the Mini 9 off. Plug in the drive. Turn the power on and when the Dell logo appears, start hitting "0" (zero). You only actually need hit it once at the right time, but I like to pound on it ![]() Then you should see a menu of bootable devices, choose USB. Then you'll see a Ubuntu menu. Choose "install", or choose "use ubuntu without changes" then choose "install" on the desktop (then you can use the computer during installation, but you won't have WiFi during installation. Afterwards, it's pretty self-explanatory. See here for more info. I like to run without swap (despite the installer's warnings). I also like to manually partition my drive, but it's probably easier for less experienced users to let the installer choose automatically. Feel free to ask more questions.
