Default External Drive Assignments - 12-13-2008, 08:52 PM

I use the Mini 9 with the I/O Majic DVD drive from Dell and also a Western Digital Passport external hard drive. Sometime the Passport is assigned drive 'D' sometimes 'E'. It doesn't seem to matter the order in which they are attached or the USB ports that are used. Is there a way to permanently assign a drive letter to a particular device? Is there a way once a drive is seen by the Mini to change it to another letter? I use the Passport to store data for various programs and it throws them off when the drive is not where they expect it to be. Thanks.

You do it throught the Disk Manager.
Right click MY COMPUTER select MANAGE
Right click on the volume and select CHANGE DRIVE LETTER AND PATH ...

Mini 9, 2GB Ram, Runcore 64GB SSD, XP Pro SP3
Software developed for Mini9 -
Scroll dwn and look for Disk Activity Monitor , Caps Lock Tray Light
