OS X has not generally worked well with touchscreens, since Apple doesn't (yet) make any touchscreen Macs.

wow, I wish I was able to buy one of these. I just got my resistive touch screen in, and while it's OK, it's certainly nowhere near my iphone.

I would really like to compare the two, as I find that my dry fingers (wash my hands a lot working in a hospital), don't activate capacitive touch very well (same thing on some microwave ovens).

I'm guessing that the resistive TS is better for me, as I can touch it with a finger nail or stylus.

is there such a thing as a capacitive TS stylus? it would have to ground somehow?

Default Part number for capacitive screen - 12-09-2009, 09:46 PM

I realize that you may not be able to verify, but was the part number for your capacitive overlay 17-8741-117-01? I have not been able to find anything on Ebay, and on only one other site with that part # for $109 and as that is a discontinued part number from 3M, it might be hard to find.

Default Get in touch with the ebay seller - 12-23-2009, 03:52 PM

I think its better to get in touch with the ebay seller, as he had more of these touch screen glass. They are a lot cheaper too at $50.

I contacted the 3M seller right after this thread was created, and they had no more left.

has anyone found any more capacitive touch screens? They're nearly impossible to find..
I just emailed 3M and am awaiting a reply.

rock99rock, I have seen your completed mod and I want to do the same, but hopefully with a capacitive screen.
