I am not very happy.
Same here. Ordered 3 weeks ago, no replies from them about the order status. I am in the process of claim resolution through Paypal now. I would advise against ordering it at least until acabtp is back and can confirm that they can ship.
I'm in the same boat, BUT, I heard from them today. They'll ship with a $5 inconvenience credit or refund the original amount. Here's the email:

You recently placed an order for a Team MRB Power Isolator Module. Due to a problem with the mail account used to handle our PayPal and support emails, your order was not previously processed. We give our apologies for this and would like to make it up to you by offering your choice of the following:
· Team MRB Power Isolator Module + $5 (USD) "Inconvenience Credit"
· Full Refund
If you would prefer the PIM and credit, just reply to this email to let us know and it will ship tonight, Friday, 2/6/09.
If you would prefer the refund, just let us know that instead and your full refund will be issued.
If we have not heard from you by Monday afternoon, 2/10/09, we will ship a PIM and the credit.
Once again, sorry for the inconvenience, and we hope that we can satisfactorily rectify this situation for you.
Thanks,
TeamMRB, Inc.

Hey guys. We had a problem with the mailbox that received our PayPal (orders) and support emails, but it has been rectified. All customers who had back orders have been contacted and all outstanding orders have shipped or been otherwise settled.

The PIM is still in stock and available for purchase, now with 100% less shipping delay!

I've also updated my contact email for this account, so the forum members can get a hold of me more easily if I haven't signed onto the MDM forum in a while.

Thanks!
Tom

Greetings!

This may sound dumb...but I have to make sure. My mini was a gift and it was bought from Spain. The keyboard is a little different than a standard US keyboard, the windows xp WAS (i reinstalled) in Spanish and all the manuals and cds also in Spanish. But...the laptop had some Vodafone software installed. Connection managers, a lot of stuff. I considered it bloatware and reinstalled everything just before I found out that some may have a WWAN card.
In the "guida de configuration" :P I found out that it has WWAN.
I don't speak Spanish, but the I google-translated and there there are listed : WLAN, WWAN, Bluetooth.
Hmmm....I now have ubuntu installed so I wouldn't like to install windows xp just to check if the WWAN card is available, but I don't remember seeing it in the device manager.
I unscrewed that lid on the back and I just see WWAN written on the motherboard...hmmm...
I'm thinking that the WWAN card might be available because of all that vodafone software installed on it at the beginning.
One more thing, under network manager, in ubuntu I have a tab that is labeled "mobile broadband"...i'm not sure if this tab would show if the wwan card is available or not...

Any ideas?

If all you saw was a blank space with WWAN printed on the motherboard, you have no WWAN option. Is there a socket to the left of the WWAN text? Probably not - just some solder pads.

Hmmm...I will check that out.
But why for all that Vodafone software?

LE : Yeah...you were right. There's no socket there. Just a white rectangle with some soldered contacts or something.

I don't know anything about Vodaphone software. Was there such software on the system?

Default Canmore GT-730F(L) Data Logger - 02-15-2009, 06:01 PM

Does anybody have any experience with Canmore GT-730F(L)? This is pretty much the same as GT-730F except that i has Data Logging functionality. I want to purchase and add this one to my Mini9. I want to know, if I can power it, even when the laptop is off or on standby? I want to add a physical switch somewhere to turn it on and odd independent of the laptop. I can then turn the laptop on and upload the track.

Any thoughts?

Should work fine, the GT-730F is a GT-730F(L) board without the EEPROM for the logging installed.

It would be doable, but you would need a custom board to power it. You'd take power from the battery directly, have your own voltage regulator, and some circuitry to hand off power to the regular USB circuitry when the laptop comes on. Would be kind of complicated actually. Also, if you mount it where I did, you'd need to have the Mini open to get a good signal.

Default STOOPID QUESTION time - 03-02-2009, 06:21 PM

those that have put one of these in their mini9: which way should b facing up ? ive pulled mine apart, and im going to attach it to the internal USB on my touch screen.

The OPs pics show the skytraq chip/battery facing up, by the time the palmrest is put back on etc.
Is the antenna on this side too ?

Whats the heavy, fat, big yellow square on the opposite side of the chip ?
