I have a bluetooth external gps that works fine in streets & maps 2010 running win 7, and I've had the 09 version under XP too.
I'll probably just plug it into the USB port on the side to test it; but I'd like to do the mod where you attach it internally at the WWAN connection on the motherboard.
Also, I'd be running Snow Leopard as the host operating system ( which is incompatible with Streets and Trips) and virtualizing XP (the guest OS) using a virtualization program like VirtualBox to run XP on top of SL.
I've never used VirtualBox, but there have been issues in the past with a virtualized OS being able to access external devices such as those plugged into USB ports. On top of all this, if I do the mod where you install the GPS internally at the WWAN connection, it techniclaly will not be a USB connection but will instead be a PCIexpress connection.
So I wonder if the virtualized Streets and Trips will have any trouble communication with the GPS receiver attached at the WWAN connection on the motherboard. Thks.
