Default Different Touchscreens for Different Netbooks - 11-18-2009, 10:13 PM

Hi, just ordered a Dell Mini 9 with the intention of turning into a tablet, thanks to the inspiration Ive gotten off this forum.

Right, quick question now, Hoda offer lots of different touchscreens for different netbooks with a 8.9" screen. Would using one thats not branded for the Dell Mini 9 (for instance, if i got one thats meant to be used with the EEE 901), would that still work on the Dell? Just cause the ones made for the EEE 901 seem to be alot cheaper in the UK for some unapparent reason.

I would also be interested if anyone out there could help with this?

from what I have read its not the screen thats the issue, its the cable and how it connects to the Mini 9 that is of importance

all the touchscreen i've come across are usb touchscreens, the webcam on the eeepc is usb so power and data can be easily gotten internally..

webcam and and all the other stuff in dell mini aren't, in order to install a touch screen, u will need to sacrifice a usb port

if u are going to get a touchscreen, don't get hoda, they're thick and made of glass (i.e. they break), get a flexible one from ebay so ur case won't bulge
