Recommended screwdriver for Mini9 upgrade? - 11-11-2009, 03:04 AM
Hey everyone, I've been thinking about replacing the stock 4GB SSD with a larger module. From what I've previously read on these forums, there is the chance the SSD screws might be difficult to remove. I was thinking before I go about ordering an SSD that I should try unscrewing and rescrewing the SSD screws on my mini 9 to make sure there won't be a problem.
I learned from other threads about the SSD screws that a proper driver (phillips #0) with a large handle and sufficient downward pressure and torque are critical. However, I was wondering what screwdrivers people would recommend to use on the dell mini 9? I've looked at several different #0 sizes that have varying dimensions of the head.
From another SSD screw thread, this set from Lowe's was recommended:
Kobalt at Lowe's: 10 Piece Screwdriver Set
This this a decent set? Any other recommendations?

I use Wiha, but those look like a great and cheap alternative!

any set of pliers will work too depending on the strength or you grip. if you can get a pickle jar open, you can do this.
