Can you try watching some video on hulu and see if it plays smooth on full screen? I was hoping the faster SSD will help the problem. Also see if it still runs ok after 10 minutes.
THANKS!

Yes. The better question, does the drive FEEL as fast as the benchmarks make it seem? Read speed is about 15% below the STEC, but the write speed is 300% better..

You can tell a difference for sure. Video is smooth, I don't get anymore chop on youtube, etc. I just tested hulu and its smooth as silk. The performance overall is just a lot more quick in general. I dont get the hangups I used to when running multiple apps at the same time, etc.

One of my "performance tests" I checked after I had the new drive in was on the STEC SSD, when I would close FireFox and immediately try to open it back up I would get a popup stating that FireFox had not finished closing yet... that has gone away on the RunCore SSD.

I did notice a bit of a pause (2 seconds) when trying to open FireFox while installing Office 2007 at the same time, so it's not 100% absent of hangups, but Office 2007 is a big install so I'll let it slide

Overall I can say that you will not be disappointed with this drive.

On a side note... De La Hoya just got his ass wooped hardcore by Manny Pacquiao. They had to stop the fight it was so bad. I just wasted $60 dollars on that crap, haha

Off to install OSX.

Okay -

This is good news as it means the rest of us should have ours soon (hopefully), and that the speed wasen't all hype.

I have a 32gb Runcore I am waiting on, about the OSX... I have heard sooo much about it.

How much Space does the OSX Install take up?

Thanks again.

mini 9, 1.3cam, 16gig (waiting on runcore), skinned, 2gigs, windows7

Check the OSX section for guides on installing. It takes up as little as 5.5gb when slimmed down. I have all kinds of apps installed on mine and I'm still using less than half my 32gb drive.
I ordered a 64gb runcore, I want life without limits.. hahaha..

Hmmm... these readings do not live up to the claims MDD is making. I hope the 64GB I have on order performs better.
