I've been looking into
SSD's for my MacBook and came across the information about performance degradation associated with them, especially older controllers. I was wondering how/if this applies to my Mini 9 with a RunCore 32GB
SSD. It seems about as fast as my MacBook, but I've never made a timed comparison. Are there any tips I should use to keep the drive speed as fast as possible?
I currently use Leopard on my Mini, so I know it doesn't support the TRIM command. I don't know if Safari writes temporary files to the
SSD or to RAM (I know RAM is preferred for
SSD's). I know
SSD's shouldn't be defragmented, but is there anything else I should do to prolong the life of the drive and maximize performance?
