Are you dead set on the dashboard? What about one of those flip down dvd player screens. You could remove the screen and put the mini screen in it.

If you decide to mount the whole thing behind the dash, you could easily get a USB extension cable, and if you really needed it, extensions for line in/out.I'm not sure what else you'd need access to, considering what else is left.

I don't think the Mini is really that great of a fit for a CarPuter. Too many other options that just flat out work better. I personally just use my PPC. It has VGA out for a screen if you want to add one. GPS built in. Bluetooth built in for music and call streaming with almost any new stereo. Accelerometer, though I don't know if there is any software available to make use of this in regards to the car. 16GB storage. Plus it has 3G for an always connected highspeed internet. If you are going to start running programs such as MegaSquirt a dedicated CarPuter is still a better option.
